Donate a Property

Interested in Donating a Property?

Sometimes a property becomes more of a burden than a blessing. Maintenance, cost, and time can become a challenge.

The Erie County Land Bank can accept donations from individuals and organizations of properties that need to be rehabbed, renovated, or demolished. There are several benefits to donating a property to the Erie County Land Bank:

  • Owners would not need to correct any code violations prior to donating.
  • Following donation, owners are no longer responsible for property taxes, maintenance, or maintenance costs.
  • The ECLB may be able to assist with certain legal matters involved with a property donation such as inheritance, estate, or title issues.
  • Donation of a property could be considered a non-cash charitable contribution, which may offer tax benefits. These benefits could vary from person to person, so we encourage you to always consult your local tax professional.

In order for us to determine if we are able to able to assist you, we need to gather some information about the property, its location, and the situation. If you have a property that you would like the Erie County Land Bank to consider for donation, we would love to hear about it.
