Interested in Donating a Property?
Sometimes a property becomes more of a burden than a blessing. Maintenance, cost, and time can become a challenge.
The Erie County Land Bank can accept donations from individuals and organizations of properties that need to be rehabbed, renovated, or demolished. There are several benefits to donating a property to the Erie County Land Bank:
- Owners would not need to correct any code violations prior to donating.
- Following donation, owners are no longer responsible for property taxes, maintenance, or maintenance costs.
- The ECLB may be able to assist with certain legal matters involved with a property donation such as inheritance, estate, or title issues.
- Donation of a property could be considered a non-cash charitable contribution, which may offer tax benefits. These benefits could vary from person to person, so we encourage you to always consult your local tax professional.
